Cursor Sundial
Cursor Sundial is an interactive web piece that turns your mouse cursor into a sundial gnomon — casting a geometrically accurate shadow whose angle and length shift in real time according to the sun's actual position at your location. Driven by solar calculation, the piece reintroduces one of the most elemental traces of natural light into a surface that has none: the screen.
The page breathes with the day, pitch black at night and fading to white at sunrise, border shadows drifting as hours pass. By anchoring the most mundane of digital gestures to solar time, Cursor Sundial asks what it might mean to bring atmosphere back into the digital surface: to make the screen a place where the outside still moves, where shadow still falls, where the sun still counts.
